By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

You must be a registered student of a recognized university to use UniSyncT. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement and are at least 18 years of age or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You can register using:

• Email and Password: By providing accurate, current, and complete information, including your name, email, phone number, university affiliation, and creating a secure password.
• Google Sign-In: By authenticating through your Google account. When you use Google Sign-In, we receive basic information from Google (name, email, profile picture) and you will be asked to complete your profile by providing your phone number and university affiliation.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. If you sign in with Google, you are also subject to Google's Terms of Service.

5. User Verification

UniSyncT requires user verification to maintain a secure and trustworthy community. The verification process differs based on your registration method:

• Email/Password Users: You must verify your email address by entering the verification code sent to your email. This confirms your identity and grants you access to the platform.
• Google Sign-In Users: Your email is automatically verified through Google's authentication. You must complete your profile by providing your university affiliation and phone number before accessing the full features of the Service.

Regardless of registration method, you agree to cooperate with our verification process and provide accurate information. In the future, we may require additional verification such as National Identity Number (NIN) verification. Your access to certain features may be restricted until your profile is fully verified.

6. User Content

You are solely responsible for the content you post, upload, or otherwise make available on the Service ("User Content"), including posts, comments, product listings, and profile information. You agree not to post any User Content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise violates these Terms or applicable laws.

By posting User Content, you grant UniSyncT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, and perform your User Content in connection with the Service.

7. Marketplace

UniSyncT provides a marketplace for students to buy and sell products. We do not own, sell, or endorse any products listed on the Service. We are not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers and are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of products, the truth or accuracy of listings, or the ability of buyers to purchase items or sellers to sell items.

8. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Violating any laws or regulations.
• Infringing on the rights of others.
• Posting false or misleading information.
• Engaging in fraudulent or deceptive practices.
• Distributing spam or unsolicited communications.
• Interfering with the operation of the Service.

We do not guarantee the security, reliability, or accuracy of third-party authentication services like Google Sign-In, though we implement industry-standard security measures.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall UniSyncT be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to any issues arising from third-party authentication services, unauthorized access to your account, or data breaches at third-party providers.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where UniSyncT is operated.

13. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services, including Google Sign-In for authentication. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or policies of third-party services. By using Google Sign-In, you agree to comply with Google's Terms of Service available at https://policies.google.com/terms.

15. Content and Product Policy

• Authentic student experiences, updates, and opinions
• Legally owned items suitable for resale (e.g. books, clothing, electronics, accessories)
• Non-commercial services offered by students (e.g. tutoring, design help)
• Constructive and respectful community discussion

Prohibited Content & Products

• Illegal goods (e.g. counterfeit items, drugs, weapons)
• Explicit or adult content, including sexually suggestive materials
• Hate speech, bullying, harassment, or discriminatory content
• Spam, misleading product posts, or reposting the same content repeatedly
• Promotional posts on the feed that bypass marketplace rules
• Items that violate your university’s or local laws and policies

We reserve the right to remove any content or listings that violate these guidelines without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in restrictions, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
